Cafe command center

Everything the cafe can print or act on from this terminal. The POS browser cannot print, so nothing here prints on the tablet — it sends the job to the cafe desktop, which prints it on the Canon.

Food labels →

Every dish in the print set, searchable, one tap per sheet.

Built at the moment you tap, so the best-by date is computed from today — a sheet printed from a folder can be days wrong, and dates on food are food safety.

Packing slips →

Every paid order not yet shipped, from A Grateful Plate and H'Urban Apothika together. Prints the customer's slip and a pack sheet with the address checked.

Two paid orders sat 149 and 80 hours because they lived on a page in a datacenter instead of on the counter where somebody could pick one up.

Call a courier for anything going out — a customer order, a drop to another kitchen. Type a name and the address comes up.

Cameron has been booking every one of these by hand. The cafe knows who needs a driver before he does.

This box is in a datacenter and cannot see the cafe's printer. The cafe desktop is the only machine on both networks, so it pulls the jobs. If it is off, jobs wait rather than fail — and ops/print_agent_watch.py mails Cameron when they wait too long.

ops/label_press.py on the box · the cafe desktop pulls jobs, nothing is pushed into the cafe and no port here is opened.
